Episode 24: The Wailing (with guest Robbie Knutson)

This week Nikki and Kate were joined by a guest- Robbie Knutson from Could’ve Been Heroes! Did they introduce him? Sure did! When? Stop asking questions. There were many conversations about The Wailing- from the importance of good set dressing and natural light to mysterious farts and pondering what type of person builds a nest. They also talked about ambiguous loss, grief, and just how many different interpretations this movie has. This is a bit of a beefy episode, but still shorter than the movie!

Episode 23: The Neon Demon

This week Nikki and Kate watched The Neon Demon and talked about the 16 old girl inside of every man, LIGHTS, and the importance of kissing both reflections equally. There were also discussions on problematic tropes about queer women and how to level a critique at societal norms instead of blaming individuals for how they navigate restricted choices. One could say it’s a beefy episode.
